Sarah Visits Maui!

Over the years I have taken some really adventurous trips solo and with my husband Matt. China, Estonia, Greenland, Cambodia, The Galapagos...just to name a few. This Spring we were really craving a chill, relaxing beach vacation. What better destination than Hawaii.  We chose Maui. Rented a condo on the beach in Napili Point, north of Lahaina. We'd been to Hawaii before but never this area. I was stunned at how many turtles and whales we saw! We chose this spot because it has on site snorkeling. I wasn't prepared to have a private cove/snorkel area that was FULL of turtles. I also wasn't expected the food to be as over the top good as it was.

Snorkel highlights were Napili Point, Honolua Bay and Molokini Crater. We also went to a place called Turtle Town, and snorkeled with turtles and saw the homes of David Bowie and Steven Tyler. Food highlights included poke, Acai Bowls, Saimen noodles and sushi. Miso Phat, A'A Roots, Sansei, The Fish Market, Monkeypod and the food trucks!

We spent our last day in the surf town of Paia. This is a small town in the north, and it's very windy, making ideal for surfers, windsurfers and kite surfers. The beach was idyllic and dinner at Vana Paia was a real standout. Def worth a visit to watch the surfers, seals, and multitude of turtles sunning on the beach. It doesn't get more relaxing than a trip to Hawaii. Mahalo.
