They say you can't judge a book by its cover, but a pretty beer can sure can influence your decision to buy it. I spotted a gorgeous can and wanted to buy it right away. I'll be honest, snap decisions like this don't always yield good results but in this case it did. Mother Earth Brewing Company was the brewer, and what I bought was Flawless Imperfection Hazy IPA.
Turns out, the can art is exactly that...art. It's a collaboration with artist Zofia Bogusz, from NY, who created an oil on wood which was then used for the beer's artwork. Amazing. Mother Earth Brewing have something called a The Project X showcase, which is all about using the works of independent artists for Mother Earth's specialty brews. Cool.
This beer is tropical, notes of stone fruit, amazing hop flavor and aroma, and has a nice long finish. Delightful flavors, and full bodied like a hazy should be. No matter the can, I'll be checking out more beer from this California brewer!
