ZZ Top And Lynyrd Skynyrd Co-headlining Tour & Classic Rock History

ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd are joining forces for the co-headlining Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour, that will launch next Summer. The 23-date trek kicks off on July 21, but a Washington has yet to be announced.

In the History of Rock in 1966 – Jimi Hendrix made his TV debut on a show called ‘Ready Steady Go!’ The Jimi Hendrix Experience also recorded ‘Foxy Lady’ on this day.

In 1986 – Bruce Hornsby & The Range went to number 1 on the US singles chart, with ‘The Way It Is’. Written by Bruce Hornsby and his brother John Hornsby, it made explicit reference to the American Civil Rights Movement.

And in 1996 – The film, Jerry Maguire, co-starring The Eagles’ Glenn Frey, makes its debut in US theatres.
