America may have a reputation as having some unhealthy habits, but there are plenty of cities around the country that prove that people do still care about their health. Depending on where you live, you may have a better chance of being healthier, such has having more access to resources that allow residents a greater opportunity for exercising and eating fresh veggies, but others may face obstacles blocking the way of cleaner living.
WalletHub compared more than 180 cities around the country to determine the healthiest and unhealthiest places to live in America. Four cities in Washington are among the healthiest cities in the U.S. to live in for 2024, with one ranking in the Top 5 overall. Here are the cities that made the list:

- No. 69: Tacoma
- No. 72: Spokane
While Seattle has among the highest cost of a medical visit in the country, it still ranked as the third healthiest city to live in the country largely thanks to its high marks in the fitness, food and green space categories.

To determine the list, WalletHub analyzed 182 cities around the country across four factors: health care, food, fitness and green space. These factors were then evaluated using 41 relevant metrics, including physical heath, mental health, premature-death rate, cost of medical visit, healthy restaurants per capita, share of obese residents, share of adults who engage in any physical activity, fitness & instruction centers per capita, quality of parks, hiking trails per capita, walk score, recreation access and more.
