Sarah's Beer of the Week 12.12.19

One of my earliest KZOK beer blogs was from Bad Jimmy's Brewing Co in Ballard.  It's video you can check out here: Bad Jimmy's Video Blog! They opened in 2013 and are still going strong. Which is fantastic, since they brew great beer. They have gotten bigger, are indoor outdoor, are dog friendly, they are in a great location...AND...the name was inspired by a burgeoning beer belly. How can you not love 'em. In the PNW we tend to have a lot of IPA. Which is always fine by me, BUT...one of the things to love about Bad Jimmy's is the variety and creativity of beers available. They have ale and IPA, but then you'll see Strawberry Rhubarb Blonde. Vanilla Porter. Pecan Brown. Good, adventurous stuff. Now, they have a super comfy tap room, but imagine my happy surprise to see they are canning! I found cans of their Habanero Amber at Kiss Cafe in Ballard, and was thrilled. I am a sucker for jalapeno and habanero beers/drinks. I did have a habanero gin and tonic recently, and that was NOT a good idea. Thankfully, that's not the case with Bad Jimmy's Amber. It's delicious. It's got the perfect balance or malt and bite. Too much fire and your throat hurts. Not enough and you're seeking heat. They've nailed it. Thank you Bad Jimmy's for canning. And once the weather warms up I'll start leaving the house to visit breweries again. ;)
