Last week, Matt and I went to Russia on vacation. We have traveled far and wide, but never to Russia. And given the current climate, we weren't sure what to expect. Thankfully, the trip was fantastic! The people were very nice, and the architecture was spectacular. The food was incredible. Fresh fish, savory dumplings, and affordable caviar. But this is my beer blog. It shouldn't surprise you that the beer was flowing. Most of the beer is like a German lager, light and refreshing but not too complex. We did find a few IPA's, dark beers, and more. The craft beer scene is alive and well over there. Of course we also drank our share of vodka and so-called 'Soviet champagne'.
