I don't drink a ton of Milk Stout. It's not the most common of beer styles. But I was intrigued when I saw one called 'head cheese', from Great Notion Brewing. My dad used to eat head cheese when I was growing up and it terrified me. I know to many it's a delicacy, but not to me. The jelly bits freaked me out! The good news, this beer is NOT made with the meat product known as head cheese. Upon taking his first sip, Matt said, this is the best milk stout I've ever had. It's quite delicious!! It's sweet, but not overly so. It's got notes of nuts and chocolate. It tastes delicious and really, nothing like gelatinous meat! Celebrate by finding this delightful beer.
