Two of rock's most durable bands, Stone Temple Pilots and Bush, will be hitting the road together this fall. The two acts will set out on a co-headlining run that will kick off on September 30th. Both bands had new albums arrive just before the pandemic wiped out 2020's touring.
Both bands will play full sets during their performances, tickets for the run will go on sale to the general public this Friday at 10am via both the Stone Temple Pilots and Bush websites. There will also be a limited amount of $20 tickets for specific shows.
Metallica have released a special vinyl record in honor of Soundgarden's Chris Cornell as part of the band's Vinyl Club. The release contains covers of songs from Soundgarden's 1988 album, Ultramega OK, including “All Your Lies” and “Head Injury”, which were both performed by Metallica at the I Am The Highway Chris Cornell tribute concert in 2019. The vinyl's artwork, clearly inspired by Metallica's Hardwired... to Self-Destruct cover, features James Hetfield and companies faces juxtaposed into a cut out of Chris Cornell, and was designed by Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament.
In the History of Rock it’s a big day for the Beatles… in 1962 – Ringo Starr made his debut with the Beatles at the Horticultural Society Dance, Birkenhead, England, having had a two-hour rehearsal in preparation. This was the first appearance of The Beatles as the world would come to know them: John, Paul, George, and Ringo.
In 1964 – The Beatles fly across the Atlantic to begin their first full concert tour of the U.S., with the debut show slated for the following day at The Cow Palace in San Francisco. Over 9,000 frenzied fans met The Beatles as they arrived at the airport. The Beatles were driven into a protective fence enclosure so that photographers could take pictures. As the fans pressed against the fencing, it gave way, with the Beatles managing to get out split-seconds before it came crashing down.
Opening acts included The Righteous Brothers, The Exciters, Jackie DeShannon and Bill Black's Combo.
And in 1982 – The City of Liverpool named four Streets after the fab four: John Lennon Drive, Paul McCartney Way, George Harrison Close and Ringo Starr Drive.
