Sarah's Beer of the Week 11.14.19

I'd imagine one of the fun things about being a brewer is naming your beers. Like calling one 'Nut Crusher'. Why not. This week for my beer blog I tried something from a totally unfamiliar brewer. Wild Ride Brewing out of Redmond Oregon. While not a very popular style I do love a Peanut Butter Porter (or stout). This one caught my attention because of the style but also being a brewer I'd never tried. Nut Crusher Peanut Butter Porter. How delicious does that sound?! Plus, being a 22 ouncer means you can share, and share I did. This style leans towards being a one and done, because it's rich and decadent. Almost like a dessert. This beer has notes of chocolate, coffee, and grains. And of course, the peanut butter. It is satisfying like a dessert. But not sweet. It's also not boozy, or bitter. A bit low on carbonation for me, but that often can be the case with this style. Looking for a great after dinner beer? Or something to savor by the fire? This will do the trick and then some. Plus, you can say you enjoyed a 'nut crusher'.
