This week I went out with some girlfriends to Boxcar Alehouse. Bars like this aren't in abundance anymore in Seattle. No frills, no fancy clothes, good prices...and mozzarella sticks. Who can complain. Plus, they have a good whiskey and beer list. I went for a pale ale from Maritime. Olivia had the Hale's Kolsch, and Beth went for Basil Hayden's rocks. Yum all around. Maritime Fresh Wet Hop XPA is more specifically what I had. Martime is one of those breweries whose beer I drink a lot but I rarely visit. Why?! I should change that. This XPA was jam packed with hop flavor, a bit of dank and nice carbonation. I don't want tiny bubbles or low bubbles. 6.5% ABV means this packs a punch but not so much so that you can't order a second. The make consistently good brew, this one no exception. Great beer, great bar, and great girlfriends. I'm fortunate!
