This week Matt and I went to Ballard to try a restaurant called Stoneburner.
They didn't have an expansive beer list, but there was a nice variety. I ordered a Scrimshaw pilsner from North Coast Brewing. They're out of California, and have been around since 1988. I thought this beer might be a nice, lighter beer to have with pizza. I was right! We ordered several things, smoked tuna dip, olives, fresh mozz pizza and...Scrimshaw pilsner. This beer is light, refreshing, crisp and very reminiscent of German beer. Which is a good thing. Simple ingredients, straight forward taste, and nothing to overpower the great food. If you like a lighter beer, but want more flavor than a Coors, this would work for you. Flavor without being a beery hop bomb. Stoneburner is a nice restaurant, great decor, service and food...but skip the fried olives!
