Many of you know I am on a quest to visit all the Major League baseball parks. I was able to hit Anaheim Angel's for the first time this month. What visit to a ballpark is complete without a stop for beer. There is a brewery right by Angel Stadium called Golden Road Brewing. I was surprised to learn there are several around the stadium, and it was tough to narrow it down to just one! I read some good reviews, so Golden Road it was. They were also reported to have a big room, with good food, so that made the decision easier.
Turns out, the reviews were right. Big room, but not impersonal. Great food. And a ton of beer styles to choose from. I liked that it wasn't just a ton of IPA's. They had a huge variety, including some interesting fruit beers. They call them 'carts'. Mango, pineapple, melon etc. Not usually my thing, but the mango was delicious!! Beer, but refreshing fruit mango goodness. The Trapdoor IPA and Point the Way IPA were also fantastic. Beer, tots, friends and baseball. Not sure one can ask for more than that. If you find yourself in Anaheim for baseball or any other reason, this is a great spot to check out.
