Metallica will be posting monthly eBay auctions with the proceeds going to help their Foundation All Within My Hands.
They will be auctioning off all kinds of fun things, from signed band merchandise to the drumhead that the band used while recording their album Hardwired...to Self-Destruct.
Every month they will have new exclusive items to sell and all the proceeds will be going to a cross-section of national and local charities according to their website allwithinmyhands.org
Over the last year their foundation has helped out natural disaster zones like Houston, Puerto Rico, and Mexico City. They have made donations to food banks in the towns were they were preforming and even put on a benefit concert for victims of the Northern California wildfires. This monthly auction can be put down in the books as just one more way they are trying to help out and sticking with their foundations mission statement which is the following:
