A woman in Spokane County, Washington was arrested after deputies said she drove onto a sidewalk and chased a child riding a dirt bike with her car in a disturbing incident caught on cellphone video.
Witness footage shows the driver swerving toward the child, honking repeatedly, and at one point accelerating along the sidewalk while neighbors reacted in shock. Authorities said the child was able to get away unharmed.
About 25 minutes later, deputies received another call about a possible burglary roughly a mile away, where a homeowner watching a live security feed reported someone trying door handles at the house. Deputies found the same woman, identified as 56-year-old Wendy Clemente, in the driveway and took her into custody.
Investigators said she showed signs of impairment, later admitted to drinking alcohol, and allegedly resisted arrest by trying to kick a deputy. She was booked on charges including attempted first-degree assault, DUI, and criminal trespass.
