I spent last week in Japan, and drank the usuals...Sapporo and Asahi. But I also found some good craft beer, and even went to a brewery! Nasu Kohgen Beer is located in Nasu Japan. About 2 1/2 hours from Tokyo. We spent the week here, relaxing in the forest, hiking, eating and drinking. This brewery is tucked in the woods, on a gorgeous property. They brew several varieties and trained in Germany. We did the sampler, tried a hef, scotch ale, pilsner and more. Just a few years ago you'd be hard pressed to find much other than Sapporo and Asahi, but it's great to see the craft beer movement expanding more and more. If you find yourself in Japan, try this beer!! Kanpai!
