A trip to Peru means drinking a lot of Pisco Sours. But they also drink a LOT of beer. I tried a lot, and was pleasantly surprised to find they weren't all light on flavor. Sure, on a hot day it's hard to beat a light lager or pilsner. But my favorite of the bunch was Be Kind Pale Ale from Cerveceria del Valle Sagrado. And the Pilsen, which reminded me a bit of Heineken. The one that was ubiquitous was also quite tasty was Cusquena. Light and dark. We visited Cholos Cerveceria in Cusco, and Jacob's Craft Beer in Cusco. There were more options and cervecerias than I was expecting. The beer phenomena is worldwide. Always try new things, and drink local wherever you are!
