A pilsner from Oregon for this week's blog. Sometimes I think pilsner gets a bad rap. People think light and flavorless. Which simply isn't the case. Tons of PNW are brewing delicious pilsner. I'm partial to the one I just tried from Steeplejack Brewing Co called West Coast Pilnser, that is out of this world. It's crisp and cleanbut also has hop flavor that balances it out perfectly. They also have a female brewmaster from Gig Harbor, which makes me respect them even more! Women have been very under represented in the industry. They have several brewpubs in the Portland area, fingers and toes are crossed that they branch out up here in the Seattle area! This is one of my new favs. Cheers!
