Triangle Spirits in Fremont is an amazing whiskey bar. After a Manhattan I tried a brown from Aslan Brewing. Aslan is brewed in Bellingham, but they have a taproom just a few doors down. I feel like Brown Ale isn't all that popular right now in the US. Alsan makes the Bham Brown and it's quite delicious. It's malty, with hints of chocolate and caramel. It's also lower in ABV (5%) so you don't feel bad about drinking one after drinking whiskey. Alsan brews some high quality beer, and this one is no exception. If you're up for a nice Winter sort of beer, without a hop hit, this one has you covered.
