Yes it's July, but I love a Black ale or Black IPA or CDA. Sometimes you look at these dark dark beers and think they're going to be crazy heavy, or knock you on your butt. This week I had a Perrin Black Ale, and it was neither of those things. Yes it looks pitch black, and rich and chocolaty. But it drinks crisp and refreshing. It's complex but not heavy. Great flavors but believe it or not perfect for the Summer. Or Fall...you get it. Really good stuff. Never heard of Perrin Brewing Co? Me neither. Craft beer out of Michigan! Sometimes if you see something interesting, just try it. This stuff is outstanding. Never heard of the brewer? Who cares. Support small. Try new things. Drink good beer!
