The good/bad thing about having a Kegerator is deciding which delicious beer to put in it. And Western Wa is full of amazing beer choices. And I'm so close to Ballard (brewery mecca) that it's often a tough choice. No. Headed further northeast. This week I went with a brewery whose beer I know is amazing. I ordered kegs without even trying the style first. Burke Gilman Brewing in Laurelhurst/U-Village. I opted for the Troll Tarer (Norwegian Pale) and their Helmut Kolsch. The Pale pours like a hazy, but has some funk from the yeast. Yes, this is a good thing. The Kolsch is crisp and refreshing which is perfect for the sunny days we're finally starting to get. Once again, they do not disappoint. The taproom is super cool. When I picked them up I spotted a smoked lager. Yum...maybe next time!
