Over the Christmas break we went to the Hood Canal. Which I learned is not a canal, but a fjord. One of the many things this area is known for is its oysters. We ate a lot of 'em, including grillers and chillers from Hamma Hamma Company. Matt and I met up with some Oregon friends for a socially distanced beer and oyster hang at the Hamma Hamma Oyster Saloon. This place is all outdoors, they have a great tap list and food menu. The beer that intrigued me the most was from Rainy Daze Brewing Co out of Poulsbo. A pale stout. They call it 'Mindfunk'. It def does a number on your head. It looks like a pale, light straw colored, but the head, taste and mouthfeel are all stout. If you taste it with your eyes closed you think it's a stout. When you open your eyes and see the color your head is all sorts of confused. Total mind F. The taste is great, and I'll have to put Rainy Daze on my springtime visit list.
