We found a secret beer room on our trip to Whidbey Island. We saw some folks drinking beer on the porch of a small convenience store. They said there is a small taproom in the corner of the inside. We'd already been inside and didn't see it. But back in we went, and there it was, a tiny little room where they were pouring draft beer for folks to take outside! We ordered a Black Lager from Penn Cove, and a pilsner from Sumerian Brewing Co out of Woodinville. We took our beers out to the porch, and watched the birds fly by. We spoke with the local teachers who shared the news of the secret taproom. They told us about life on Whidbey and about the cool art scene. Whidbey is a fun spot, and thankfully they enjoy good beer! I don't think I've been to Sumerian Brewing Co and I need to change that. The beer was really tasty. Get out and explore local.
