Sarah's Beer of the Week 08.20.2020

We made it to Astoria...FINALLY! Yes, to see The Goonies House, and yes, to visit Fort George Brewery. They are one of the most solid breweries around. Plenty of interesting styles, but also plenty of IPA. I I'll be honest, we bought a lot of beer.  Fanzine was delicious. It's a West Coast IPA, and a collaboration with Grains of Wrath Brewing. Matt loved Cathedral Tree, a German Style Pilsner. It's a super tasty treat, but also felt special because we just hiked the trail to Cathedral Tree.

The Suicide Sqeeze was amazing. That one is a collab with Suicide Squeeze Records in Seattle. While I absolutely loved them all I must say the OPA was my favorite. I'd imagine for some, that's like saying your oldest child is your favorite. It's an Oatmeal Pale Ale. Chock full of flavor, but also easy drinking. A wonderful choice for Summer.

FG is always making incredible brew, and they have tons of great collaborations as well. Thus the trip to Oregon to visit. Here's the good news for you. You don't have to drive to Astoria to find their beer. There is plenty to be found here in Western WA. I usually get it from Teku Tavern, Chuck's Hop Shop or QFC.
