We are all spending time at home, and finding new ways to entertain ourselves. Thankfully it's Spring and we're able to enjoy more time outdoors. At my house we busted out the fire pit and enjoyed a new beer while relaxing outside. Cigar City Brewing, out of Florida recently starting distributing their beer here in Western WA. I tried their IPA a few months ago while visiting family in Fort Lauderdale. I purchased their Jai Alai IPA at QFC in Seattle. This week I sampled a different style from them. Cigar City Maduro, a Brown Ale. This was a perfect choice for enjoying around the fire, because it's a robust brown, with dessert leanings. Some browns are hoppy, or thin. This is roasty toasty and a little sweet. Chocolate and coffee come through. It's smooth and robust at the same time. A good sipper. We make fun of Florida a lot on the radio show, but they have beautiful beaches...and really good beer brewers! Cigar City Brewing is worth checking out, my beer friends.
