After nearly 60 years on the road, David Crosby, told us in May that he was retiring from touring. Well 7 months later he’s had a change of heart and is planning to put new dates back on the calendar. We will let you know when he will be in Western Washington.
In the History of Rock in 1966 – Jimi Hendrix released his first single, “Hey Joe”. It hit number 6 in the UK but failed to chart at all in the US. He followed with “Purple Haze”, “The Wind Cries Mary”, “All Along the Watchtower” and “Voodoo Chile”, which all made the British Top 10, but in the US, only “All Along the Watchtower” reached the Top 40, peaking at number 20.
In 1984 – ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill accidentally shot himself in the abdomen when his derringer accidentally discharged. He drove himself to the hospital for treatment.
And in 1993 – MTV aired Nirvana’s ‘Unplugged’ session for the first time. Nirvana filmed its entire performance in a single take with the band’s fourteen-song setlist including six covers.
