The wait is over and Rage Against the Machine are touring live again for the first time in 11 years. They kicked off their North American reunion tour over the weekend.
In the History of Rock in 1969 – David Bowie’s single, "Space Oddity" was released to coincide with the first lunar landing by Apollo 11, but it wouldn’t become a hit until it was re-released in 1973.
On the same day, The Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Women” was released. The band started recording the tune as a Country song but found out it made a better song.
In 1971 – Bruce Springsteen opened for Humble Pie in New Jersey. After the show an impressed Peter Frampton tells Springsteen he’d like to have him open for them nationwide. For no logical reason Springsteen’s manager declined the offer.
And in 2000 – Lars Ulrich of Metallica appears before a US Senate to testify against websites like Napster.
