Foo Fighters Plan Taylor Hawkins All-Star Tribute Concerts & Rock History

The Foo Fighters have announced two Taylor Hawkins All-Star Tribute Concerts in L.A. & London. Full lineups have not yet been set but the September shows will take place at Wembley Stadium and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

In the History of Rock in 1970 – Deep Purple had their van and equipment impounded by East German police while on a European tour, after mistakenly driving too close to the border.

In 1974 – Paul McCartney and Wings had the top spot on the Billboard singles chart with “Band On The Run”, a song on which Paul played bass, guitar and drums. George Harrison unwittingly contributed the first line of one part of the song: “If we ever get out of here” when he said it during one of the many Beatles’ business meetings.

And in 2003 – Led Zeppelin were at number 1 on the U.S. album chart with their triple live album “How The West Was Won”, the band’s seventh U.S. number 1 album. The performances were from the band’s 1972 tour at the L.A. Forum and Long Beach Arena.
