The Guitar That Broke Up Oasis Sells At Auction & Classic Rock History

The guitar that broke up Oasis just sold at auction for a little over $400,000. Before a show in Paris, Liam and Noel got into an argument. Liam swung Noel’s Gibson around and smashed it on the ground. After that fight, the rest of their performances were canceled and that was the end of Oasis.

In the History of Rock in 1964 – The Beatles attend the training site of heavy weight boxing champion Sonny Liston for a publicity photo-op. Liston however, refused to pose with "those sissies" and the group is then driven to Cassius Clay's gym where they are welcomed with open arms.

In 1968 – Pink Floyd fired Syd Barrett from the band and permanently replaced him with David Gilmour. Roger Waters later wrote and dedicated the song "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" to the increasingly unstable Barrett.

And in 1978 – The third time was the charm for Kansas. After scoring Top 40 hits with “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Point Of Know Return”, “Dust In The Wind” entered the Billboard chart on its way to becoming the group’s only Top 10.
