Whitesnake's David Coverdale Farewell Tour & Classic Rock History

Whitesnake played the first date of David Coverdale’s farewell tour last night in Dublin. It was also the first show for bassist Tanya O'Callaghan. It was the first Whitesnake show for O'Callaghan, who joined the band in 2021, becoming the first female member in the group’s history.

In the History of Rock in 1964 – The Rolling Stones were refused lunch at The Grand Hotel in Bristol because they were not wearing jackets and ties. The Daily Mirror describes them as "The ugliest group in Britain."

In 1972 – John Lennon appears on The Dick Cavett Show on ABC-TV and says that he believes the FBI has tapped his phone.

And in 1974 – Led Zeppelin attended an Elvis Presley show at the Los Angeles Forum in California. After a shaky start to the show, Elvis stopped the band and jokingly said: ‘We’ve got Led Zeppelin out there, let’s try to look like we know what we're doing.’ All four members of Zeppelin met with Elvis after the show, spending over 2 hours backstage.
