In the History of Rock in 1981 – Yes temporarily split up when bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White left the group to rehearse with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. The intended super group never got off the ground, and Yes would later reform to release their number one single, “Owner of a Lonely Heart”.

In 2006 – Elton John raised more than $700,000 for his AIDS charity selling off clothes in a specially-created shop called “Elton’s Closet” in New York City.

And in 2015 – 74-year-old Ringo Starr was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, becoming the last of The Beatles to receive that honor. Also inducted into The Hall that year were Stevie Ray Vaughan, Lou Reed, Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, and Green Day in their first year of eligibility.
