Eddie Vedder Pays Tribute To Mark Lanegan, Elton John Emergency Landing

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder took a moment at Benaroya Hall last night to pay tribute to grunge pioneer Mark Lanegan, from the Screaming Trees, who died at 57. 

Sir Elton John suffered a scary ordeal this week as he headed to play Madison Square Garden. His private plane suffered hydraulic failure and had to do an emergency landing.

In the History of Rock in 1979 – On the strength of their hit, “Sultans Of Swing”, England’s Dire Straits kick off their first U.S. tour, selling out every one of their 51 scheduled shows.

In 1998 – Every member of Oasis were banned for life from flying Cathay Pacific Airlines after “abusive and disgusting behavior” during a flight from Hong Kong to Australia.

And in 2003 – Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel sang together for the first time in ten years as they reviewed a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
