Slash On Jimmy Kimmel Live! Crosby, Stills & Nash Reunite With Young

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators were on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, performing “The River Is Rising” live on TV for the first time. Slash also sat down with the host to discuss their new album, “4”, which drops a week from tomorrow.

A reunion we didn’t necessarily expect, but Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young are reuniting as the world’s first ex-Spotify supergroup. David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash have joined Neil Young in asking for their music to be removed from Spotify.

In the History of Rock in 1959 –  For many, this was in fact "the day the music died", when Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper were all killed shortly after their plane took off in Clear Lake, Iowa. All three were travelling to Fargo, North Dakota, for the next show on their Winter Dance Party Tour. The tour was set to cover 24 cities in three weeks.

In 1968 – The Beatles record Paul McCartney’s “Lady Madonna” at Abbey Road studios in just three takes. The Fats Domino inspired tune will reach number four in the U.S. Domino released a cover of the song that topped out at number one hundred on the Billboard chart.

And in 1983 – After cracking the Billboard Top 40 on four earlier occasions, the six-man, L.A. band known simply as Toto achieves their first and only U.S. number one record with “Africa”.
