Elton John resumed his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour last night in New Orleans after a nearly two-year hiatus. Last night’s set list included his classic hits, including “Bennie and the Jets” (which opened the show), “Tiny Dancer” and “Rocket Man”.
Queen guitarist Brian May is making his acting debut, and he’ll be doing it as the Godfather Of Rock in an episode of the BBC Children’s drama Andy And The Band.
In the History of Rock in 1973 – Jerry Lee Lewis was booked to play the Grand Ole Opry on the condition that he would stick to Country and Western tunes. Jerry did that for a while, but eventually broke into his old Rock hits from the ‘50s, while swearing up a storm.
In 1982 – Ozzy Osbourne bit the head off of what he thought was a plastic bat thrown at him during a concert in Des Moines. The bat turned out to be real, and Ozzy later went through a series of injections against rabies.
And in 1983 – Def Leppard released their third studio album ‘Pyromania’ which featured new guitarist Phil Collen and was produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange. The album has now sold over 10 million copies in the U.S.
