Guitarist Zakk Wylde will be right alongside Ozzy Osbourne when the metal icon returns to the stage in 2022. Wylde, who did not appear on Ozzy's Ordinary Man album and is not expected to appear on Osbourne's in progress follow-up, but has said that he does expect to be on board for the live shows when Osbourne returns to touring next year.
Ringo Starr has announced his latest EP, Change the World. The four-song release was recorded in the former Beatle’s home studio and “features frequent and new collaborators, creating songs that span the spectrum of pop, country, reggae and rock and roll.”
In the History of Rock in 1966 – Two days after John Lennon's apology for saying the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ, radio station KLUE in Longview, Texas organizes a Beatles Bonfire where the group's records and memorabilia were destroyed. The next morning the station's transmission tower was struck by lightning, halting all broadcasting and rendering the news director unconscious.
In 1967 – Fleetwood Mac made their live debut when they appeared at the National Jazz and Blues Festival in Windsor. Also on the bill Jeff Beck, Cream, Small Faces, The Move, The Pink Floyd, Donovan and Chicken Shack.
In 1977 – Bachman-Turner Overdrive announce they are splitting up, and Canada goes into mourning. Their biggest hit was the 1974 Number 1 “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet.”
In 1980 – Four masked robbers broke into Todd Rundgren's New York house and proceeded to steal Hi-Fi equipment and paintings after tying the musician up. It was reported that one of the intruders had been humming his hit 'I Saw The Light'.
And in 1994 – Members from Oasis and The Verve were arrested after smashing up a hotel bar and breaking into a church to steal communion wine. Both bands had been appearing at Hulsfred Festival in Sweden.
