KISS had originally lined up the last leg of their "The End of the Road" farewell tour to conclude in the fall of 2021, but the pandemic prolonged their retirement plans. Now, Gene Simmons has confirmed the band will begin another Las Vegas residency in late December, which will spill into 2022.

Although the dates have not officially been announced, Simmons leaked the news during an interview at Animazing Gallery at The Venetian Grand Canal Shoppes in New York while on site to preview his collection of sketches and paintings, dubbed 'ArtWorks.'

In the History of Rock in 1980 – AC/DC's seventh album, "Back in Black," their first LP with Brian Johnson on lead vocals, went to #1 in the UK, where it would spend two weeks on top of the chart. It would also peak at #4 in the US on the Billboard 200 album chart.

In 1986 – Winding up their tour in support of their "Magic" album, Queen performed what would be their final concert ever with Freddie Mercury, at the Knebworth in England. 120,000 people attended the concert. Freddie would die from complications due to AIDS in November 1991.

In 1995 – Grateful Dead singer/guitarist Jerry Garcia dies of a heart attack at a drug treatment center in San Francisco. He is 53. The Grateful Dead came out of the 1960s San Francisco counterculture scene. The band is best known for its devoted “Dead Head” fans and the Woodstock-style atmosphere of its sold-out concerts.

And in 1996 – The Ramones split. The Ramones are often considered to be the first punk rock group of the 80’s. They are an American Rock band and the band was formed in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, in 1974. The group performed 2,263 concerts and toured almost non stop for 22 years. The band finally split up in 1996 after they performed their final show at the Lollapalooza music festival. The three founding members, Joey, Dee Dee and Johnny all three died within eight years after they split up.
