Green Day are celebrating the 20th anniversary of American Idiot!
A deluxe edition of the album is out now, that features demos and live performances, as the album was a comeback for the band back in 2004. "American Idiot" “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” and “Holiday” got them seven Grammy nominations and made them the biggest band of the year.
“In the summer of 2004, Green Day entered the studio with Rob Cavallo to create American Idiot, uncertain of what the future held,” Green Day wrote on Instagram. “American Idiot was crafted as a response to the daily bombardment of media that spreads it far and wide, making us desensitized and weary - filled with themes that still ring true today, even 20 years later.”
The album comes out on October 25th, with different box sets, new vinyl and CDs that include demos, as the live concert at Irving Plaza in New York City. There's also a documentary, of 20 Years of American Idiot, which features interviews and archival footage of old performances.
