Ozzy Osbourne is getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a second time later this month. On Thursday (October 3), it was announced that Jack Black would be giving the induction speech, while TOOL's Maynard James Keenan, Billy Idol, and Jelly Roll are slated to sing songs from Ozzy’s solo catalog. They'll be backed by an all-star band including bassist Rob Trujillo (who played for Ozzy before joining Metallica), Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde, Wolfgang Van Halen, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, and producer Andrew Watt.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Ozzy declared that "rock icon" Idol should be inducted into the Rock Hall. “Billy Idol is a rock icon,” he said. “His music is timeless. Billy Idol should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”

Ozzy is getting inducted for his solo career after already being inducted with his former band Black Sabbath in 2006. “I don’t know what to think,” he admitted when asked about his feelings on being inducted again. “I’m still in shock that I’m getting inducted for a second time. But at the same time, I’m very excited.”

The Rock Hall Class of 2024 also includes Dave Matthews Band, Cher, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, Peter Frampton, Foreigner, and Kool & The Gang. The induction ceremony will be held October 19 in Cleveland, Ohio.
