Demi Lovato Strips Down 'Dancing With The Devil' Songs For Tiny Desk

Demi Lovato performed two songs from her new album — plus an old favorite — for her first Tiny Desk!

The Disney darling delivered three fan-favorite songs on Wednesday (April 14) as part of the Tiny Desk (Home) concert series. Lovato, performing in a deep grey suit ensemble, opened her vulnerable and stripped-back set with a stirring rendition of her powerful ballad “Tell Me You Love Me” from her sixth studio album of the same name.

With her backyard at her Los Angeles home serving as the stage for her 12-minute presentation, the 28-year-old explained the significance of taking her Tiny Desk (Home) concert outside.

"I am super excited to be filming this outside, because I'm really, really excited about the weather changing," she gushed. "Spring is my second favorite and summer is my absolute favorite season, so I'm really happy to be out in the bright, sunny California sun."

Lovato also gave her furry tree neighbors a sweet shoutout during the intermission.

"My squirrels are out here. You can't see, but I have now taught them how to eat from my hand and that's a big accomplishment," she added. "So, I just wanted to let you know, that was what was on my mind, and I'm happy to be here."

Lovato continued her set with performances of the emotionally-driven songs “The Art of Starting Over” and “Dancing with the Devil,” both of which appear on her latest studio album, Dancing with the Devil…the Art of Starting Over. The powerhouse’s new LP, which released to high acclaim earlier this month, chronicles Lovato’s troubled past with addiction and alcohol as well as her harrowing road to recovery after the near-fatal overdose she suffered in July 2018.
