The Black Crowes Take Us Back To 1990 With 'Charming Mess' Video

Last month, The Black Crowes shared a previously unreleased song called "Charming Mess" from the Shake Your Money Maker sessions, and they're following it up with a music video that features never before seen footage and photos from 1990.

The unearthed song was supposed to be Shake Your Money Maker's lead single but ended up not even making the album. "We had plenty of hit songs on that record; I guess we didn’t need it," frontman Chris Robinson explained to Rolling Stone about why "Charming Mess" didn't make the cut. "The beginning of that song really sounds like ‘Hot Legs.' Thank goodness Mr. [Rod] Stewart has given us his blessing to release it after all these years."

"Charming Mess" will be included on The Black Crowes' upcoming Shake Your Money Maker 30th anniversary reissue, which releases in multi-format sets on February 26th. The band's Chris and Rich Robinson teamed up with the album's original producer George Drakoulias on the special re-release, featuring 3LP and 3CD Super Deluxe versions which includes the original album (remastered), 3 never-before-heard studio recordings, 2 unreleased demos from the band's early incarnation as Mr. Crowe's Garden, B-sides, and a 14-song unreleased concert from their hometown of Atlanta in December 1990, among other surprises.

A 2CD Deluxe version is also available, which includes the remastered album along with the unreleased studio songs, demos and b-sides, as well as a standard 1CD and 1LP version.
