One of these days I'm going to visit Astoria. And not to see the Goonies house (although I love that movie). I want to visit Fort George Brewery. They brew consistently tasty beer in interesting styles. They have a lot of collaborations, and they brew a ton of great IPA. This week I tried Magnanimous IPA. It's a Fort George Collaboration with Earth & Sky Farm of Oregon City. I love a piney beer, and turns out for this one they use fir tips is infused into each pint. According to their website they 'lined the mash tun with generous amounts of Oregon Grand Fir. Then brewed a Northwest Style IPA with the piniest hop blend we could imagine. The result, a noble blend of piney hops and fresh evergreen aroma'. MAN this is an incredible beer. A must try for any IPA lover. Tons of hazy beers are out there...NE style IPA but this is straight NW IPA and it rocks. I'll make it to Astoria one of these days, this brewery is high on my 'must visit' list. And remember. Goonies never say die.
