There are so many breweries in Ballard, but a real standout for me is Stoup Brewing. Stoup has a lot of different styles they brew, but I always know their IPA's are going to be great. I don't ever ask for a sample, I just dive in. Such was the case at The Highliner Public House.
They have a really good tap list, but I was drawn to the brewer and the name of one particular beer. Viafuct IPA. No, that's not a typo. It's a beer brewed for the drama surrounding the closure and tear down of the Viaduct. The roads aren't the same, and never will be again. And yeah, some of this has been a massive headache for many. The traffic in SEA stinks, but this beer does not. It's very tasty. A nice hoppy IPA, well balanced and refreshing. I'm not sure how long this one will stick around but give anything from Stoup a chance, you won't be disappointed.
