KISS To Open 'America's Got Talent' Season Finale On Wednesday

America's Got Talent will go out with a bang as KISS will open the season 13 finale on Wednesday night (September 19), as per a new report from Billboard.

On Monday, the industry outlet reported that the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will hit the stage for the two-hour finale, which will air at 8 PM ET on NBC. Shortly after the report, AGT took to Instagram to confirm the big news. "It doesn't get more epic than," they captioned a shot of the iconic band. They'll serve as just some of the entertainment for the night as the country sets sight on the 10 finalists — Brian King Joseph, Courtney Hadwin, Daniel Emmet, Duo Transcend, Glennis Grace, Michael Ketterer, Samuel Comroe, Shin Lim, Vicki Barbolak and Zurcaroh — to see who will take home this season's grand prize.

News of KISS' booking comes at a fitting time since Tuesday marked the 35-year milestone that the rock legends bared their faces on live television. As Yahoo pointed out, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and new band members Vinnie Vincent and the late Eric Carr took off their eccentric makeup for a Sunday evening MTV press conference on September 18, 1983.

"I remember jamming into the packed MTV control room to watch the unmasking," original VJ Martha Quinn told the outlet. "Everybody on the staff grew up for the most part in the ’70s, and KISS was in our rock 'n' roll DNA. It's hard to remember now, but the reveal of what the guys in KISS looked like under their makeup was historic. It's funny, the production was so bare bones. You can really see the low-budget early MTV — in many ways, the MTV that today is so missed."
