Sarah's Beer of the Week 06.06.19

When the weather is spectacular you want to be outside. Or have a beautiful view of outside. Happy hour at Chinook's Salmon Bay was calling my name this week. Great food, great view, and plenty of beer to choose from. I ordered a beer from a brewery I haven't visited in ages. Too long, in fact.  Port Townsend Brewing CompanySteve Slaton has moved out to that area, and one of these weekends I'll make good on my threat to visit him. And thus the brewery. Until then, I'm happy that Chinook's is carrying one of their delicious beers. Port Townsend Brewing Co. Reel Amber. It's a wonderful amber, with that hard to achieve balance of hops and malt. Some citrus pop, but not too much. It's not too sweet and not too hoppy. Many ambers can be TOO malty, and this one is not. Perfectly balanced. And the perfect accompaniment to amazing oysters. Held up for Chinook's fantastic fish tacos and fried clams. This beer was so nice I had it twice. Chinook's and Anthony's never disappoint, and neither does Port Townsend Brewing Co. See you there this summer!
